Energy from cooling water is reused by the heat pumps

Thanks to its three heat pumps, the historic Carlfors Bruk factory in Huskvarna can utilise its heated process water.

The temperature in the factory is now more comfortable and the employees are satisfied.
"It feels really good to utilise the cooling water. We have it for 'free' anyway," says Technical Manager Svante Björklund.

Historic factory

Carlfors Bruk in Huskvarna, in the province of Småland, has existed since 1898 and manufactures aluminium powder and aluminium paste. Ninety-eight percent of it is exported.

The factory recently installed three heat pumps from CTC. This was done to utilise the cooling water used in the manufacturing process, which is otherwise cooled in cooling towers.

In connection with this, three heat pumps from CTC were installed. These three are CTC EcoPart i435 Pro units, which are interconnected. CTC EcoPart is for heating larger properties, such as apartment buildings and industrial properties.

"The new pumps work very well. They are able to maintain a comfortable temperature in our new factory building," explains Svante Björklund.

"We want to utilise all process water"

The employees are pleased that the new premises always maintain a minimum temperature of 15 degrees.
"The old premises, which are a kilometre away, were not heated at all," says Svante Björklund.
Carlfors Bruk is slowly but surely growing and is very satisfied with its heat pump investment.
"We are now looking at how we can continue by utilising all our process water," he adds.
