Ground source heating replaced wood boiler
Anders Jonsson in Forserum invested in a modern ground source heat pump.
- "It's nice not to have to use the wood-burning stove" says Anders Jonsson.
Anders Jonsson, 60, lives in Forserum outside Jönköping with his wife. The house has long been heated by a combination boiler and wood. Anders Jonsson has spent many hours every month gathering wood in the forest, chopping, drying and burning.
Today he has a geothermal heat pump from CTC, a GSi 12, which works without any effort.
"The indoor climate is fresher without dirt and soot from the wood.
- "I have enjoyed being out in the forest and countryside, getting lots of fresh air and exercise thanks to the wood burning. But it took some time and the environment down in the basement was not so fun. And it took some planning to get heat when it was needed. It was often cold when we had been away for a few days.
So after more than two decades of faithful service, the wood boiler went out and the efficient and modern ground source heat pump came in.
When we moved in in the early 90s, almost everyone had a wood-burning stove. Now there are probably only two left.
Low monthly cost of ground source heating
Several of the neighbors on the street have also abandoned their wood boilers for other solutions.
- "When we moved in in the early 90s, almost everyone had a wood-burning boiler. Now there are probably only two left.
The heat pump runs on its basic program, which works well as the compressor automatically adapts to the house's need for heat and hot water.
- The ground source heat pump works great. It is carefree and there is always hot water. The monthly cost is low and it is cleaner and tidier here at home.
